A Complimentary Practice...
Whether we practice for ourselves or receive from others, the use of Reiki therapy can compliment just about anything that already supports the mind, body or spirit. As Reiki practice is primarily a meditative practice, it has the capacity to bring systems of the body into deep states of relaxation. When relaxed, we become more receptive. We increase our ability for focus and can greatly assist in processes like recovery and healing, or simply allow more ease into out lives. Some ways in which incorporating Reiki practice can be beneficial include:
Pain Relief
- Clinicians who are aware of the benefits of Reiki therapy often recommend it to their patients, as it has been purported to encourage relaxation and patients have reported noticeable pain relief and muscle relaxation after just one session.
Mental Health
- Reiki therapy - consistently demonstrating a greater therapeutic effect over placebo in symptoms of mental health - can assist in reduction of anxiety in people with chronic conditions, alleviate procedural anxiety pre and post op, and improve short and long-term symptoms of depression, burnout and trauma.
Physical Therapy
- While not intended to replace traditional physical therapy exercises, Reiki therapy can be used alongside them to address the emotional and energetic aspects of pain and injury, and assist in recovery.
Creative Arts &
Art as Therapy
- When it comes to any type of creative process, Reiki therapy can help us to "get out of our own way" through assisting in clearing beliefs, behaviors and other blockages that limit us. This can help balance our moods, which can increase inspiration, motivation and confidence.
